What is a Hangtag?

Please don't be confused between the "Hangtag" and the "Care and Content Label".

The hangtag is the piece of paper that companies attach to their garments (Dear Lil' Devas attaches with hemp twine) in order to give the consumer more information about it. (What you always have to tear/cut off ;-) and discard after you purchase. We want to avoid that, and because all of the info is online on our website anyway, we give people the option of "with or without hangtag" on the drop down menu when you're making your purchase!

Hangtag?.... or not?!

We understand that a hangtag is a necessity when a garment is being sold in a retail store because it provides the only information that the consumer receives.

At dearlildevas.com we are fortunate enough to be able to provide you with all the information that comes on the hangtag online.

That’s why you can let us know if you’d rather not have a hangtag attached to your garment when you purchase it online (care instructions are on the label on the inside of the right pant leg at the bottom, and on the top inside back of the tank tops).

Because we cut and sew Dear Lil' Devas garments locally, here in Toronto, your order can be customized. Although we usually have a small stock sewn up of all of our styles, we don't package, or apply hangtags until after you've placed your order.

That is just one more way of how we spread Dear Lil' Devas' "good vibes" - to you, to the environment, and consequently to ourselves!!

How to go "Hangtagless"

When you choose the color of your item from the drop-down on the page - you'll be given two options per color "with hangtag" or "without hangtag".

It's almost been a year since we started giving you a choice about whether you would like the piece of printed marketing material attached to your purchases. Since then, 90% of our internet orders go out WITHOUT hangtags attached!! That is exceptional, you are truly a group who actively demonstrates your commitment to the environment, and we thank you!!

Plastic

Arghhh – Dear Lil' Devas HATES plastic... and "hate" is about the strongest word in our vocabulary! We hate it because of what it has done, and is doing, to our planet.

How can we protect your clothing from dirt and moisture while it is in transit? The best that we've come up with so far is to use oxo-biodegradable bags so at least although they're still plastic, they'll break down in a short period of time. UPDATE (May 27, 2010) on this use of the oxo-biodegradable plastic - ok - so, we decided to try out just not using ANY plastic at all - after all, the clothing is protected by the envelope or box that it's in so, we haven't purchased the plastic bags since July, 2009, and there have been absolutely NO problems!!!

New Cardboard Boxes?

No way! If you place a wholesale order with Dear Lil' Devas you will receive it in a gently used box - they're just simply better for many reasons - most of all the reusable aspect!
